Description/Profile/About

At Western Pennsylvania Home Health Association, we’re giving the power of choice back to you. Being able to choose where and when you receive the health care services you need is perhaps one of the most important personal freedoms you should have.

One of the only agencies in Western Pennsylvania to earn accreditation from The Joint Commission, our company is dedicated to your needs and your loved ones. We coined the term “mobile healthcare services” to meet your needs on your time. Our available services include in-home nursing, non-medical homecare, and rehabilitation services. No matter where you live—at home or at a short- or long-term living facility—we will provide diverse, quality care at the location of your choice and at the time that perfectly fits your lifestyle and schedule.

Choosing the best health care and rehabilitation services that will cater to you in whatever place you call home is an important option for patients of any age. Western Pennsylvania Home Health Association’s goal is to help you or your loved ones maintain the highest level of wellness and independence possible.

From skilled nursing and rehabilitation therapies, to medical social services and home health aides, we offer you a wide array of in-home and onsite health-related services to support you wherever you are. In addition, our multilingual medical and professional staff also enhances patient communication, while supporting our clients throughout the journey of achieving their personal health goals.

As a non-profit organization, servicing clients throughout Western Pennsylvania, we are available to assist and support case managers, discharge planners, and physicians throughout the region. For example, if you are a case manager working in a nursing home or an independent living facility, our skilled care professionals are always available to back-up your team. If you require additional or respite support, you can learn more about our services and how we can help.

What would you do to change the world?

Choosing the best health care and rehabilitation services that will cater to individuals in whatever place they call home is an important option for patients of any age. Western Pennsylvania Home Health Association’s goal is to help individuals maintain the highest level of wellness and independence possible. We believe that healthcare is a basic human right and not just a privilege for some. We envision a world where access to the best health care possible is available to everyone on the planet and also one in which all people are treated with the highest level of dignity and respect.

Seniors to Seniors Penpal Program

Western Pennsylvania Home Health Association
Seniors to Seniors
WPHHA is excited to present the Seniors to Seniors program.
THE POWER OF A LETTER
Seniors to Seniors gives high school seniors an opportunity to form a pen pal relationship with a local senior, communicating through letter writing throughout their senior year. The program will span a time frame of 9 months, with an appreciation lunch for all participants at closing. Participants in the program will receive stationary and pre-addressed envelopes and will have 9 thought provoking topics to discuss throughout the year. Each participant will mail one letter a month, the high school senior initiating the program.
The goal of this program is to encourage community awareness, education, emotional support and mentorship for both participants. Ability to learn from one another, proving that you are never to old or young to see a situation from a different point of view. Senior to Senior will invoke thought and allow both parties to see value in the written word. We hope that throughout the year valuable lessons will be shared from both sides and an unlikely friendship formed.
To succeed in the future, we must not forgot the past and those valuable lessons that only our seniors can pass on.
The program asks for a very small time commitment with a huge impact, to know and realize that with just a simple letter once a month, someone truly cares to take the time to write. This is an act beyond words. We hope that Seniors to Seniors will be life changing and much like WPHHA prides itself to be the heart in homecare, we hope that younger generations will see their older counterparts in a fresh new light.
PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING US YOUR SUPPORT TODAY. ONLY TWO SIMPLE STEPS REQUIRED. FIRST, REGISTER YOUR NAME ON THIS NETWORK BY CLICKING THE REGISTER BUTTON IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER, AND SECOND CLICK THE BLUE SPONSOR TAB ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE PAGE TO PLEDGE YOUR SUPPORT. WE NEED TO RAISE THE DESIGNATED FUNDS TO MAKE THIS PROGRAM A SUCCESS. PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING TODAY. YOUR SUPPORT WILL HELP BRING GENERATIONS TOGETHER AND EMPOWER THE LIVES OF ALL PARTICIPANTS.
Take action, we are currently looking for sponsors for this program (on any financial level) to assist in the funding of this program.
The program will launch late September and will continue through May. Once enrolled, the participants must complete all 9 consecutive months. The program is open to all high school seniors and individuals over the age of 65. There are not other program disqualifiers. If you have questions, please contact us at your earliest convenience.
